Shoulder Surgery
Tornier

Range of "Degenerative" implants

Offers an easy and effective option in cases of
hemiarthroplasty.

this implant favors mini-invasive approaches.

In the event of revision, it preserves bone stock.

This anatomic implant has been specially designed to:

- Restore the center of rotation and biomechanics of the glenohumeral joint
- Re-establish the anatomic muscle tension

Benefits

- Adaptable to every anatomy
- Simple, precise and reproducible anatomic reconstruction: less invasive surgery, user-friendly
instrumentation
-Excellent press-fit primary fixation thanks to its geometry
- Optimum secondary fixation achieved by its surface aspect

Implant

Adaptable to anatomic variations
o 12 sizes available

Stemless, anatomic solution with a female taper designed to
- preserve bone,
- save time,
- Reduce the variables to achieving a truly anatomic
outcome.

a Total Conservative Solution, bridges the gap between traditional stemmed and resurfacing shoulder implants.

Cannulated approach with a simple and accurate centering guide is designed for precise bone preparation to optimize outcomes.

simplified revision process.

  • A non-constrained prosthesis designed to reproduce the anatomy of the gleno- humeral joint
  • 15 years of clinical success
  • Preserves rotator cuff function by restoring natural gleno-humeral biomechanics
  • Matches each patient's retroversion and
    inclination
  • Eccentric dial system allows the variable posterior offset of the humeral head to reproduce anatomy
  • Simple and easy to use instrumentation

Humeral stem

- Excellent rotational stability
o Optimum metaphyseal filling,
o Anti-rotation fin at the top,
o Grooved stem for better cement purchase.
- Restores natural angle of inclination of humeral head
o 4 angles of inclination per stem diameter.
- Fixation of head by central Morse taper.
- Head position indexing pin.

Articular head

-Adapts to anatomic variations:
12 sizes available. Diameter and thickness are linked:
each diameter has a matching head thickness.

Cementless version based on the standard Aequalis®

Humeral stem

- Excellent primary and secondary stability
o  Stepped metaphyseal geometry to ensure cancellous bone compaction.
o  Grit-blasted metaphyseal segment to optimize bone ongrowth.

- Polished distal end to facilitate revision and avoid humeral osteotomy.

To complement the Aequalis® Cemented and Press-Fit stems and available in keeled or 4-peg versions, the Aequalis® Glenoid Component is fitted in cases of total shoulder arthroplasty.

  • Pyriform anatomic design for optimum coverage.
  • Optimum mismatch for all head size/glenoid combinations.
  • 3 glenoid sizes
  • Recommended head/glenoid combinations.
  • Anatomic measurements have enabled preferred
  • humeral head combinations to be defined. However, to meet all configurations, each head can match any size of glenoidal component.
  • Minimum thickness 4 mm.
  • Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE).

Restoration of shoulder function in cases of massive rotator cuff tears.
Launched in 2002 to compensate rotator cuff deficiency by tensioning the deltoid muscle.

new level of simplicity and adaptability for every patient.

General principle

Congruent joint surface
o Increased stability,
o Compensation of rotator cuff muscular deficiency.

Medialization of center of rotation
o  Increase in lever arm of deltoid, the only motor muscle for this prosthesis; increased strength.
o Reduced shear stresses on the glenoidal sphere.

Lowering and lateralization of humerus in relation to glenoid
o Restoration of deltoid tension,

o Stabilization of prosthesis against the glenoidal sphere.

Range of "TRAUMATOLOGY" implants

Designed for reconstruction, positioning and consolidation of tuberosities
- Most of current shoulder arthroplasties involve a humeral fracture. Brought to market in 2001 in close collaboration with Professor Pascal Boileau (Nice), the Aequalis® Fracture is the solution for complex proximal humeral fractures.

The unique design of this stem is characterized by its low profile, its fenestrated neck specially designed for accommodating a bone graft. Its small fin enables to pass suture wires. Together with suitable ancillary instruments and a simple and reproducible tuberosity reconstruction technique (Professor Pascal Boileau), the Aequalis® Fracture is the ideal solution for anatomic positioning and tuberosity consolidation

Humeral stem
The stem, made of titanium alloy (TA6V), has a fixed inclination of 130°.
- Stem sizes
- Metaphyseal part
o Low profile: optimum tuberosity positioning
o Fenestrated neck for inserting a bone graft to encourage
consolidation of fracture fragments
o  HAP metaphysis at proximal end: better bone fragment consolidation
Articular head
The same Aequalis® articular head is shared by Aequalis®
cemented, Aequalis® Press-Fit and Aequalis® Fracture stems..
Instrumentation
- Fracture jig
- Bone graft cutter

- Professor Boileau’s tuberosity fixation technique

Tornier is the first to bring you a reversed shoulder prosthesis specifically designed to optimize tuberosity healing. The first and only reversed shoulder system designed specifically for three- and four-part humeral fractures.

The Aequalis® Humeral Plate completes the fracture solutions range.

indicate for simple or complex fractures, fracture dislocations, osteotomies, malunions, and non-unions of the proximal humerus

- Ideal positioning on the bone due to a narrow proximal portion
- Optimal stabilization of fragments with 4 multi-directional locking screws that offers 20° deflection
- A traumatic setting due to a thin distal portion and a minimal bone contact
- Distal stabilization secured by a locking screw and standard compression screws

- Additional fixation via an innovative trans-osseous cerclage wiring system

A very surgeon-friendly instrumentation

The Aequalis® Humeral Plate is suitable for all implantation techniques

Instruments for reduction and stabilization:

  • A holder plate to facilitate the stabilization and to position the plate under the soft tissue on the bone
